Interconnectedness is a core value of Indigenous people. Understanding our connections to one another, the broader community, and the planet can help us to overcome feelings of loneliness and uncertainty. Constellations help us think about how we are connected to everything in creation and help us understand ourselves in relation to our environments.
For more on personal constellations, watch our Building Our Bundle Episode on the topic.
Begin this activity by taking some time to review the relationships in your life and what they mean to you. These relationships can be with family, friends, culture, land, or even the universe. Using the constellation map worksheet provided below, reflect on your connections to the following categories: friends and family, home and community, culture and ancestry, and land and the universe. Write them into the map to build your personal constellations and see how you are connected to everything in creation. Once you have completed the worksheet, reflect on what these relations mean to you and how they form a web of connections around you.
