Understanding our gifts can be a difficult task. Try this activity with a group of friends, family, and peers to connect with one another by identifying each other’s gifts.
For more on gifts, watch our Building Our Bundle Episode on this topic.
This activity can either be completed individually or in groups.
If you are completing this activity on your own, write a letter to someone you care for, whether it is a family member, friend, peer, someone you feel connected to, or someone that changed your life. In this letter, write about the things that you see in your chosen person, the gifts they have, things that you love about them, and anything else you would like them to know. Once you have written the letter, reflect on the letter writing process and imagine if this letter was addressed to you. Identify the gifts you have and try to share them with others.
If you are completing this activity in a group, the facilitator will anonymously assign each person to another individual within the group. Once you know who you have been assigned, think of a gift they have or something they are good at. Write it out on the worksheet provided below. The facilitator of the group will collect your paper and distribute it to the appropriate person within the group. Reflect on your experience with identifying gifts in another person as well as you experience with learning about the gifts another individual has identified in you. Respond to the reflection questions provided on the worksheet.
